2:30 this morning...that's what time my alarm went off so I could finish off 2008 with a early morning session on Hinze Dam with Chris. Got there in one piece and after the "which way?" decision was made we headed off into the darkness. I must say though, it brought back memories driving down that bush track again...ahh, the good ol' day!

Being an electric only impoundment meant the trip took longer then I would of liked, but these things happen and we arrived at our first spot and started throwing the surface lures. I was flicking a Sammy and a SK-pop, while Chris was throwing a ..... (not too sure really, was still too early to concentrate that hard).

On my second cast for the day I got a good haymaker (swing & miss) by a determined Bass, so things were looking good already. About 10mins later I got a good solid hookup on the Sammy. 42cm later, she was released to fight another day. Things were definately looking the goods now. I was excited!
With not a fart worth of wind, glassed out water and the sun still hiding behind the mountains, it sure looked like we were in for a cracker day!

But as it sometimes goes...that was pretty much it for the trip. A few smaller...and I do mean smaller fish were caught, but when the water temp is above 28 degrees by 8am you know you are going to be doing it tough.
As you can see by the picture of Chris's "best hit" of the day!

We pulled the pin a bit after 9ish and headed for home...Now the only decision is where we are going to fish tomorrow.
Leigh.
