Got the same text, I'm surprised I can't see them grinning from here. They stayed here last weekend and we did a Mary River trip last Sunday. Won't tell you any more as one of our intrepid will no doubt want to write on it.
There's a "Catch & Release" comp' on the Mary in a fortnights time. It's pretty low key and being run by the Landcare people @ Tiaro. Might just have to look @ fishing that one.

Al,

I think your small river is getting lots of publicity these days ,just go look at the QFM forum and a few dudes are bragging about the catches they are getting.

and I can assure you after fishing 3 days in the Borumba dam that I reckon all the decent fish have gone over the wall. All the last trips of mine to this place have resulted in small fish and the largest was 1.7 Kilo there should be bigger fish in there and not many caught anymore.

One highlight of fishing Borumba this last trip was a bay a friend found and took me to look at.

Close your eyes and picture this.-------------A big willow tree has fallen over a cove entrance and no entry by boat is possible, sneak up on eltric power to said Willow tree and look over the back and to see a mass of 40-50 Saratoga just sunning around and swimming doing there thing. I am glad i saw this as never before had I seen this many Sara'a in the one place what they were doing I have no Idea but shit it was Cooooooooooooool. went there 2 days in a row and just spun me out.

Sounds pretty good. I doubt the imagination would do it justice. Sorry to hear you didn't get into the fish. I'll have a look @ QFM website later re' the Mary. Funny I've yet to see any more than three boats on the "beat" we do, and that's about 20 km of water. That's not just during the week either. Surprised

hi guys quick hello Roy will have the full oil on the trip
we sort of peaked early with 2 PBs on Kiinchant dam they were horses, 110 for Roy and 122 for me
We dropped 2 and raised another 2 around the metre mark, we saw heaps more on the sounder while following the feeding birds around, plus Roy caught a couple of small ones hiding in the weedbeds from the big mothers. some tougher days on Teemburra for a donut, ditto for Peter Faust dam, although we got some small ones in a side pond. then Cania where we got a few small bass and it was Toga 4 angler nil, all fish were lost on the first or second jump. One I jumped was a big fella around 80 cm or more.
Anyway too tired to type see yas
Rob

Monduran was slow, the wind really cooled down water temps. The houseboat is a great option to fish the dam I will do it again next year. Only one fish was boated by EZ measured 120cm & caught on a black whistler.
