A mate from Stanthorpe is in the process of releasing to the market a fish attractant paste. I have been sent 10 samples, 5 garlic for saltwater & 5 aniseed for the fresh. If your interested in participating in the trail give me a pm with your address . Enclosed will be a return post paid envelope & a simple to fill out feedback form which I'm sure you would fill out & return to him.
I used the aniseed on jackles & plastics in a minibucks & we finished 4th also the garlic in the flathead classic & finished 15th.
Tony had a paddle yesterday around the big island off your point. On the western end there is a sand spit where Im 90% sure I saw`a big bass in a 2ft of water I dont think a bream would be that big, all around the island looks good for poppers as the water level is flooding back into the trees. Going to a bass fly comp at Borumba this weekend I have a suspision it is going to be a tough fish .If you ever want to fish the back yard after work I have a punt on the water you can borrow. Regards Denis

Have never used scent Dennis, so I couldnt compare catch rates with other brands...All I could offer is a general concensus. Just to see if it improves the catch rate...but if my catch rate goes up, the rest of the ABA will be kicking me out of the club.

But on a side note, whats the water clarity like at the moment with all the rain...thinking of having a fish down there on Sunday morning.

Leigh

Leigh, its not rthe catch rate its the amount of effort - you are the young keen one, although time will deal with that! (or I suppose if we could find a scent that doesnt work we could make it compulsory for you to use it!)

The water clarity has cleared in the southern part of the lake system. The tavern lake had a blue-green algae problem until the last rain now its all in west lake, my back yard is now turning green & smelly hope we have plenty of rain now for a flush.
Tony that point on the end of the big island I fished there Sunday & landed a 42cm I thought it was bassy. When was the date again for the Robina tagging day? Will bring some scent to the tavern next Tues. ps. Chris your blades work.
