My old bow mount has finally given up the ghost. Sad Unfortunately it was at the start of a session at Maroon.
However all is not lost- just forced me to get a new one earlier than expected.
Now the proud owner of a new Minn Kota 55lb RT with auto pilot. Its bootiful, all white & clean.
Got in at the right time with a price increase scheduled for April. One place is already listing $300.00 up on current price.
TT
PS Has anyone else been doing anything??

Any one interested in a used 42lb bow mount with auto pilot & a new anderson plug. Sonja didn't see the funny side when I told her it was just a faulty connection.

Hi TT
You should try it on Sonja with the same trick for a new sounder.
Had problems with an anderson plug recently & had another fitted by Battery World. I now know how to fit them properly.
Strip sheathing from cable & slide on heat shrink.
Coat wiring with solder & also completely fill with solder the terminal fittings
Hold the terminal fitting in a vice & heat with primus torch, then slide in wiring. Cool then crimp & finish with the heat shrink.
Its probably how everyone fits them only not having an electrical background I was impressed.
Im putting a plastic bag with duct tape on the fitting when fishing the Seaway now as I sometimes I take some wash over the bow.
Coming up to Somerset soon let us know what you have worked out. Denis

Already done the sounder trick- Thats why I have three of them too. Any one need a Lowrance X55 complete with speed sensor. Or a spare 30hp evinrude.
Heading to Somerset tomorrow with a mate, will let you know how we go.
