As of this afternoon, I have my own Clear Island Waters Lock key. No more sneaking the boat in, no more paddling in the kayak with tinnies driven by kids fanging past every 5 minutes.

I am taking Kala down there on Saturday morning, so I will be going through the lock for the first time...should be good!

Leigh.

That's not the one the Assoc. was going to get after a motion was passed to do so a couple of years ago?

What can I say, its the closest impoundment to home...throw in a relaxing setting, good Bass, even better Bream and what more could you ask for. Dont get me wrong though, I still prefer the rivers.

Tried out the new key this morning...Kala and I went down to Robina to hustle up some Tarpon and Bream. We failed on that count, but those pesky bycatch Bass kept getting in the way. No action in the main basin area, but the bridge behind the stadium produced good numbers.

With whats been happening down there over the last month or so, and now the fish have vanished from their schooling spots, I would guess that they have started to disperse back to where they come from. It wont be too long before the Island Bay starts producing Bass again I think.

Leigh.

P.S Going through that lock is a freaky experience.
